You can use a \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.dharmatrading.com\/chemicals\/dharma-professional-textile-detergent.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eprofessional textile detergent\u003c\/a\u003e but any old detergent will do.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDye: There are many different types of dye and dying techniques. If you're dying for the first time or interested in an easy, inexpensive, and predictable type of dye, we recommend reactive dyes (specifically \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.dharmatrading.com\/dyes\/dharma-fiber-reactive-procion-dyes.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eProcion dyes from Dharma Trading\u003c\/a\u003e). If you're interested in going deeper, you can try \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.dharmatrading.com\/techniques\/natural-dyes.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003enatural\/plant dye\u003c\/a\u003e (a good place to start is with \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.dharmatrading.com\/dyes\/pre-reduced-indigo-crystals.html?lnav=dyes.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003epre-reduced indigo from Dharma Trading\u003c\/a\u003e). As for techniques, there is \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.dharmatrading.com\/techniques\/tubdye\/the-tub-washing-machine-vat-bucket-dye-method.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003etub dye\u003c\/a\u003e (for solid colors), \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.dharmatrading.com\/home\/One-Step-Tie-Dye-with-Dharma-Fiber-Reactive-Professional-Dyes.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003etie-dye\u003c\/a\u003e, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.dharmatrading.com\/techniques\/ice-dyeing.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eice dye\u003c\/a\u003e, transfer dye, \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.dharmatrading.com\/techniques\/discharging.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003edischarge\u003c\/a\u003e, etc. Most methods require a fixer such as \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.dharmatrading.com\/chemicals\/soda-ash-fixer.html\" target=\"_blank\"\u003esoda ash\u003c\/a\u003e to fix the color and prevent it from washing out. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWash: After you're done dying, it's very important to wash it out so that you don't accidentally dye the rest of your clothes!
