How Versace began

Gianni Versace founded his house in Milan in 1978, and he built it on a fearless love of glamour, colour and the body. Born in Reggio Calabria, he grew up around his mother's dressmaking atelier and the classical heritage of southern Italy, influences that shaped his whole aesthetic.
