How Moncler began

Moncler was founded in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, near Grenoble, and its name comes from an abbreviation of that mountain town. It began making clothes for the cold, and its down jackets were soon worn on serious expeditions, including the Italian ascent of K2 in 1954.
