The story

Ralph Lauren began in 1967 selling neckties in New York and soon built a full menswear line under the Polo name. The brand grew into one of America's best-known fashion houses, with the polo player logo recognised around the world.

Polo Ralph Lauren is known for its take on American classics: Oxford shirts, chinos, knitwear and denim, all with a preppy, outdoorsy ease.

The denim

The denim here centres on shirts in blue washes and chambray, several with the embroidered logo. There are also paperbag and flat-front denim shorts, a cotton denim skirt, a hoodie in a denim-effect cotton and one pair of jeans.
