How Stone Island began

Stone Island was founded in Italy in 1982 by Massimo Osti, a graphic designer turned garment innovator with an endless curiosity about fabric. Its first collection used a heavy, two-tone material inspired by the tarpaulins on trucks, and that spirit of experimentation has defined the brand ever since.
