Gaby Aghion founded Chloé in Paris in 1952 with a fresh and, at the time, quietly radical idea: beautifully made clothes that did not require the formality of couture. She is widely credited as a pioneer of luxury ready-to-wear, offering women fluid, feminine pieces they could simply buy and wear.
